Secure your Server Network with a DMZ
ServePath’s managed Cisco hardware firewall offering allows you the flexibility to create a DMZ (Demilitarized Zone)* for your production servers that need to be accessed from the Internet.
The DMZ sits between your internal network and the Internet. The purpose of the DMZ is that connections from your internal hosts to the production servers in the DMZ will be permitted, but connections from your production servers to the internal network will be denied. This is important because your production servers are susceptible to being compromised by intruders in the Internet. In the event your production servers are compromised, the intruders will be unable to access any pertinent data that may exist on your internal network.
ServePath’s managed Cisco ASA hardware firewalls include 4 physical interfaces:
- Interface one is assigned to your internal network.
- Interface two is assigned to the Internet.
- Interface three would then be assigned to the DMZ.

*The Cisco ASA hardware firewall is required to setup a DMZ.
